All jokes aside though, it’s a very tough industry to crack, and if you don’t have “it” in one of very few levels of capability then you’re often on the outside looking in. That is, until Sonic Producer was splashed upon the market. Thanks to the producers of Sonic Producer, we got a free setup of the software and information needed, in addition to a short period of pretty basic tutorials. Before you know it, you can be online and will become literally able to tweak, manage and create an entire beat from beginning to end. It’s practically a cinch to become your own little beat maker!
And the best part? It actually sounds good*! (If you have some skills of course)
In short, the software has the very big ability to establish itself as a do-it-yourself type industry test that you can edit and manage to whatever your liking. But if you’re not very good at making beats, then it’s likely you’ll be suddenly recognized as someone who can make nasty beats. This industry is all about word-of-mouth, and if you’re as good as you say, you WILL be discovered. It’s just a matter of time really. That is for you to decide.
But oh the beats that can be made by a reasonably skilled beat maker! One of our resident part-time DJ’s, DJ Natty Fresh took a turn on the Sonic Software room for a bit and hung around .Meanwhile we waited for him to give up and say it was too hard or ask us for help in doing something. DJ Natty Fresh did none of these things at all And all of this coming from a person who can barely just be able to figure out how to play the new Madden games.
Suffice to say, most of our entire team took a turn of their hand at Sonic Producer, and also suffice to say, most of our entire team took very kindly and positive to the problem.
From a source (us dummies!) that consistently and passionately goes into such hip hop, rap and R&B noise, complaints, we can’t help but back the product here. We love this industry so much and perhaps more so than with a different passion than most others. To see the fact that it could so easily grow into more people being noticed along with the help of this Sonic Producer software, it’s hard to imagine how our industry could grow with such an influx of moderately trained talent streaming in.
And to think that there was a period in hip-hop history when beat makers were a in such high demand! They were a dime a dozen not too long ago… now everybody and their cousins plumber can be the next Dr. Dre with a little bit of hard work and a whole lot of drive.
